The US supermarket giant has stopped selling Linux based PCs in all of its stores, after customers showed minimal interest in the machines over those based on Microsoft’s Windows operating system. "This really wasn't what our customers were looking for," said Wal-Mart spokeswoman Melissa O'Brien, reported the Associated Press.
Wal-Mart sold Everex’s Green gPC in about 600 stores for the first time last October, but will now only sell the systems through its online operation.
Online sales of the gPC were "significantly more effective," than store sales, said Paul Kim, brand manager for Everex.
Apparently the store compliment of the machines sold out, but Wal-Mart decided not to order in any more regardless.
