Wacom has unveiled a new range of Bamboo pen tablets, the Bamboo Connect, Bamboo Capture and Bamboo Create.
The entry-level Bamboo Connect is designed for 'visual communicators', whatever that means, offering only an exclusively pen-based input system aimed at "digital inking, doodling and white-boarding." The US$80 tablet is also bundled with Autodesk Sketchbook Express and supports the digital inking functionality in the latest versions of Microsoft Office.
The mid-range Bamboo Capture adds multi-touch input to the pen tablet and is aimed at photo enthusiasts and designers. Supporting 1024 levels of pressure, the Capture adds Adobe Photoshop Element for around $100 of those US dollars.
The large Bamboo Create offers twice the work area of the Capture while retaining the dual pen and touch capabilities. The device also adds a pressure sensitive eraser on the end of the pen and supports an optional Bamboo wireless module for cable-free operation and tacks on another software package, Corel Painter Essentials.
The Bamboo Create will cost $199 and the wireless adaptor which is compatible with the Capture and Create will cost an additional $39.
