The Dixons/Carphone merger has resulted in yet more bad news for Phones 4U.
Last month, PCR reported that 160 Phones 4U concession stands at Currys stores will shut before May 2015 following the launch of Dixons Carphone.
While is was reported that Phones 4U plans to open up new stores and find roles for the 350 staff members currently working at the concessions, the mobile phone retailer has now been hit with another blow.
Vodafone has decided not to renew its contract with Phones 4U once it expires in February, according to Retail Week.
Instead, the mobile operator is opting to up its distribution with Dixons Carphone.
EE will remain as the retailer’s only full mobile operator partner, with Vodafone accounting for more than a quarter of contract connections made by Phones 4U in its year to July, generating sales of around £212 million.
Dixons Carphone opened up its first seven stores on August 7th and plans to open a total of 30 by Christmas.
