A study by market research firm Walker Information has found that there has been an increase in the amount of firms that are evaluating or testing Microsoft's new operating system, Vista. The study, which was conducted on the behalf of IT product supplier CDW, found that 48 per cent of those questioned said that their companies were either evaluating or testing the operating system.
That was an increase of around 65 per cent from the same survey that was carried out in February last year, when Walker Information found only 29 per cent of companies were at the same stage of adoption.
The figures match those of a study from earlier this year by Forrester Research, which found that around a third of all firms were expected to migrate to Vista over the course of 2008.
The survey also found that 30 per cent of those companies questioned were currently either using Vista, or were in the process of implementing it.
The report also said that nearly 50 per cent of those who had installed the software said that its new features were above and beyond their expectations.
