Virgin Media has launched its own branded netbooks free to new and existing customers.
Coinciding with the completion of its first next-generation broadband network, the company said that it will be able to offer its customers speeds of up to 50Mbps through the devices, as well as via their main PCs.
The netbooks will be offered free with a software package, however, the company has not ruled out offering it as part of a mobile broadband package in the near future.
"With its beautiful bespoke design and fantastic value software package, our new Virgin Media branded laptops are sure to be a real hit with customers," said executive director of sales at Virgin Media, Peter Taddeo.
"The Freedom netbook is a great bit of kit and the handy size means that people will be able to access their broadband service at home as well as when they are on the move."
The company has also announced the restructuring of its broadband pricing plans, with its 50Mb service costing £28 with a phone line, or £38 as a standalone package.
