Distie VIP Computers has warned that the flooding in Thailand will further disrupt component supplies even among vendors that aren't directly affected by the floods.
VIP Computers sales boss Dave Stevinson said that hard drive vendor Seagate will also be affected by the floods due to difficulties in the up stream supply chain as factories producing vital components have been inundated by rising flood waters.
Western Digital had earlier warned that the floods would have a major impact on supply with the firm's Thailand-based factories having been shut down and with some equipment already under water.
"This is a blow to the channel and the natural effect of a supply shortage will lead to a price increase," warned Stevinson.
He went on to say that VIP are "working relentlessly" to secure inventory for channel customers.
