Dell has broken its silence on its wirelessly chargeable laptop, Latitude Z.
Retailing at around $2000 (£1,260), the laptop features power coils embedded at its base, which – coupled with a magnetic inductive charging stand - will allow it to charge wirelessly.

Dell says the laptop is the world’s lightest and thinnest 16in machine currently available, at only 2cm deep and weighing about 5lb.
The laptop has a 1600 x 900 display, coming with a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor as standard. 4GB of DDR 3 memory is available for the unit, all running with a four-cell battery will keep going for around four hours.
Numerous upgrades are available for the device – in terms of memory, processing power, battery life, a wireless USB port and wireless charging hub – taking its extravagant price point even higher.
The machine runs Vista, though employs a Linux-based quick boot feature that can quickly channel internet and email access as the rest boots up.
No UK release date, or official price point has been set yet.
