Twitter 'in licensing talks' with Microsoft and Google

Micro-blogging site Twitter is in separate talks with Google and Microsoft about licensing its data feed to their search engines.

Any agreement with either of the companies would them to incorporate users’ 140-character ‘tweets’ into search results, according to a Wall Street Journal blog, which appears to have now been removed.

Reuters reports that the AllThingsDigital blog on the WSJ website quoted unidentified sources as saying the companies were in negotiations over several types of deals.

Twitter could potentially benefit from the advertising revenue that Google and Microsoft’s Bing generate from search results.
