The Hut Group appoints Mike Fethers to lead tech buying team

The Hut and Zavvi’s parent company The Hut Group has promoted Mike Fethers to head of technology and games.

Fethers previously worked as senior buyer on games.

The appointment is one of several, with The Hut Group restructuring its tech and video games buying team, reports MCV.

Sam Philips has joined as technology buyer, while Martyn Plant has been appointed junior buyer. Plant has been part of The Hut Group for four years, previously as part of its marketplace team.

Kate Livingston has become the team’s new graduate buyer, while former games buyer Deen Olokodana has moved internally to manage the group’s white label websites.

“We’ve seen incredible growth this year within games and we’re making sure the team are in a position to continue this growth,” said Fethers. “Merging the tech and games team allows us to leverage our supplier base and make the most of our experienced team.”

Fethers has also agreed to join the PCR Retail Advisory Board, and will comment on UK PC industry trends and topics in the future.
