Tesco has dramatically cut the price of a large range of prepay mobile phones in an online clearance sale, in which some model’s prices have been halved.According to Mobile, Nokia 6300s are being sold at Tesco for £44.97 (the average price being £89), while the Motorola U9 is selling for £74.97 (down £25), The Nokia 2630 for £29.97, the Sony Ericsson K550i for £44.97 and the K800i for £74.97.
Though part of a clearance sale and therefore temporary, such heavy price cutting has the potential to put huge pressure on rival retailers.
