Showing that no market or competitor is excluded from its ambitions, Tesco has announced that the new products are: "The first time a retailer has released a fully branded software range, including support and website to rival the big, existing companies such as Microsoft, Symantec and McAfee."
The top of the range consists of two suites priced at £19.97. Tesco Complete Office is its most direct move against Microsoft, and consists of Tesco Write, Spreadsheet, Database and Presentation. Tesco Internet Security is a full security suite with the first year's upgrades free.
The line up is completed by a further four products coming in at £9.97. They are: photo editing package Tesco PhotoRestyle, accounting application Tesco Personal Finance, media manipulation suite Tesco Easy Record and the self explanatory Tesco Antivirus and Antispyware.
Product support is outsourced to Formjet and comes in the form of online FAQs and email tech support.
