Strong sales of IT, imaging and audio drove John Lewis to see its best week of sales so far this year, the retailer has revealed.
Overall sales were up by two per cent compared to last year at £45.37m, with consumer electronics driving Electricals and Home Technology up 7.1 per cent for the week ending May 23rd.
John Lewis' director of operational development, Andrew Murphy put the increase was down to the retailer's staff: "Last week's results suggest that Partners are successfully managing the many changes being enacted across the business while retaining the proper focus on our customers and their needs.
"I do not underestimate how demanding it can be to achieve this balance and offer my thanks for every individual effort which goes into building each instance of our overall business success," he added.
