John Lewis has described its weekly sales of consumer electronics department as "stunning".
Despite overall sales at the retailer falling 0.7 per cent compared to the same time last year, its electricals and home technology department grew by four per cent. John Lewis' director of selling operations for region B described the growth as being "driven by a stunning performance in consumer electronics."
The retailer is optimistic about the next couple of weeks. "The weather last year took a turn for the worse, so outstanding shop keeping, strong promotions of high summer assortments and clear communication of value to our customers supported by good customer service should provide the keys to success."
