Tech Data has launched an acquisition spree in Europe in recent weeks, with the distributor buying a Spanish distributor and assets from a futher two firms.
Spanish distributor Compumedi was the latest company to become part of the firm, which also owns Computer 2000 in the UK. It also bought certain assets of Investronica's Portugese business, as well as the Autodesk operation of Man and Machine.
"Our strong balance sheet is a differentiating asset for Tech Data and we are capitalising on opportunities to grow our business and strengthen our position in the European distribution marketplace," chief executive officer at Tech Data, Robert Dutkowsky told CRN.
"These transactions add breadth and strength to our organisation and reinforce Tech Data's position as the largest IT distributor in Europe."
