The Target Components Open Day is currently underway, having drawn in attendees from around 450 independent businesses.
The event, which takes the form of a mini trade show, hosts 18 exhibitors including Microsoft, Evo Labs, Asrock, Bullguard, Foxconn, Edge10 and Gigabyte and includes four demonstration areas covering business services, the digital home, consumer electronics and repairs.
Meanwhile seminars held in the business area have drawn crowds as advisors cover topics ranging from recycling to global economics, as well as encouraging lively debate among attendees.
"Most of the guys we have here today are independents," said Target's MD Paul Cubbage.
"They're the driving force of the business but most aren't trained business types - they're hobbyists who decided to start selling or engineers who wanted to work for themselves. This event is all about getting together to exchange ideas and helping each other to do a little bit better, because it's these guys who'll be the heart of the UK's economic recovery."
