A Chinese university student built a tablet PC for his girlfriend which cost just 800 yuan or around £80.
Northeast Normal University student Wei Xinlong built the tablet out of an old second hand laptop, adding a custom case, touch screen and new battery in a build which took 10 days.
Wei said he didn't have the money to buy an iPad for his girlfriend and so set about researching how to build a cheaper one. His girlfriend Sun Shasha said it was the best gift she had ever received.
To add a bit of custom flare, Sun then added the finishing touch of rhinestones around the edge of the bevel.
The home made tablet runs Windows 7. "I will keep it forever," Sun said.
