Factory revenues of disk storage systems shrunk by 0.5 per cent in Q4 2008, according to research from IDC.
Revenues for external disk storage systems were particularly hard hit during the quarter, with CRN reporting a 5.9 per cent year on year drop.
However its not all doom and gloom – IDC also says that global storage software revenues were up 3.6 per cent year-on-year for the same quarter.
