Stone Group becomes official Apple reseller

Public sector ICT services provider Stone Group has been appointed as an Apple reseller on a new higher education framework.

The ‘Supply of Computer Equipment Using an Apple Operating System’ framework has been awarded to only four UK resellers; Stone Group, Academia, XMA and Insight, who can officially supply Apple hardware, associated peripherals and value-added services to higher education institutions throughout the UK.

Each reseller was scored on four categories; price, quality, sustainability and service, meaning that member institutions may choose to do all business with the supplier that scored highest in the tender evaluation.

Stone Group secured the highest score on every category and therefore its overall weighted score is the highest attained.

“We are thrilled not only to be part of this new framework but also to have scored the highest of all resellers on the evaluation criteria,” said Simon Harbridge, CEO of Stone Group.

“This framework is a game-changer for us as higher education institutions can now work directly with us as universities themselves have verified through a robust process that we cannot be beaten on price, quality, sustainability or service so there is no need for them to undertake costly procurement exercises as they know in advance that we have the highest attained scores in all categories.

He concluded: “We look forward to working with the market more closely and helping them with their future Apple needs.”
