Japan is the first to get Sony’s latest offering

Sony Xperia GX launches in Japan

Sony’s latest handset, the Xperia GX, has debuted in Japan with mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo.

The Xperia GX comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, features a 4.6-inch 720p Mobile Bravia display, and comes with a dual core 1.5GHz processor.

Featuring a 13 megapixel rear camera and LED flash, the GX is capable of recording full HD video in 1080p.

At the moment there is no official news on whether the phone will remain a Japan-only exclusive. But with European trade show IFA only a few weeks away, Sony is rumoured to be announcing details of a US and European launch at the event.
