Businesses are expected to increase their software spend in 2010, according to a survey by research firm Gartner.
Over 1,000 IT professionals were surveyed in the study. 25 per cent of respondents said they were planning to increase their budgets.
"Software vendors should continue to build, fund and invest in software sales and marketing programs, even during tight market conditions to maintain customers and expand revenue opportunities," managing vice president at Gartner, Joanne Correia explained.
She added that the recession has created new opportunities for ISVs approaching the market with innovative software and strong marketing.
