Apple TV 3,2 will include iPhone 5 BCM3443 chip

Smaller, more powerful Apple TV on the way

A new Apple TV model has been revealed in an FCC filling, showing it to be smaller then its predecessor.

Apart from this tantalising image, the document doesn’t reveal much about the next-gen device, apart from the fact that it will use a new low-power dual-band 40nm Broadcom BCM4334 chip, the type used in the iPhone 5.

AnandTech took a look through the firmware that’s been released for Apple TV, revealing a new model called ‘Apple TV 3,2’, which will be using an A5x processor instead of the older model’s A5 ‘revision 2’.

Although Apple is yet to officially announce the updated device, it shouldn’t be too long until we find out more – considering the 128GB iPad took just a single day to go from rumour to fact.
