According to CRN, A group of leading IT security vendors, consisting of Panda, AV-Test, Symantec, Kaspersky and F-secure, have joined together to form the Anti-malware Testing Taskforce. The taskforce is set up to help users of the group's software to better compare one system with another system. According to Panda, the team will use a new methodology that will be based on behavioural analysis, which will replicate how a PC would deal with a threat. The company insist that this provides a better evaluation of the product’s effectiveness.
Panda have also invited other organisations to join, and said that a management team will be created in the next month to design a detailed testing plan.
