Scan has taken its first steps into bricks and mortar retail following the opening of a retail showroom at its Bolton headquarters on Saturday.Speaking about the move, Scan's director, Elan Raja told HEXUS.channel, that the move had been in the making for some time now. "We've been working on it for just over a year. It's a complete make over; an environment for people who do their research online but want to fulfill in-store. In that way, it's more of an Argos mentality than a PC World one.
"The reason we're able to have a retail outlet and make a success of it is due to our loyal customers – everything is on the back of that. We went against all the odds to get it done," he continued.
He added that the venture was being supported by many of its vendor partners: "We got a lot of support from all our partners, so we've got designated areas for specific technologies."
The firm is seeing an upswing in demand from people coming in to the firm's training schemes, such as system building. "Our engineers are doing training for customers every Saturday on things like building systems. A lot of people are buying components of the back of that."
