Samsung has launched the X125 netbook, based on the AMD Nile, of a similar specification to the recently released Dell M101z.
The 11.6-inch netbook/ultra-portable notebook crossover shares a remarkable number of features as the Dell M101z but so far Amazon are selling a single configuration of the X125 with 3GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive and the single core AMD Athlon II Neo K125 CPU running at 1.7GHz for £441.
The mid-range Dell M101z is £11 cheaper and features the dual core Neo K325 CPU, however the Dell unit also has less RAM at 2GB and a smaller 250GB hard drive.
We couldn't find any other difference in features with the same Windows Home Premium, multi-format memory card reader, 80211n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, HDMI output, webcam and 1366x768 LED backlit display.
In general this sector of AMD Nile-powered products should appeal to users looking beyond the netbook category for slightly larger units with a few more pixels on the screen and enough power to play HD content either on screen or the HDMI output port.
