Samsung Galaxy Tab Active exclusive to Exertis

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Tab Active will be exclusive to Exertis.

The tablet, which has been made specifically for the B2B market, will be available for six months from the distributor, in both the 4G and Wi-Fi versions.

Samsung first showed off the B2B tablet at the IFA 2014 trade show in Germany earlier this year.

It has an eight to ten hour battery life, a C-Pen and a 3/1MP Auto Focus Camera that can scan barcodes.

Other features include an anti-shock covering, plus water and dust resistance with IP67 certification.

Graham Long, vice president of enterprise business at Samsung, said: “We’re excited to announce that the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active is now available from our distribution partners Exertis, whose sector-specific proposition reflects our view that a tailored approach is key to differentiating within a crowded marketplace.”

Ewan Davies, head of devices at Exertis, added: “Samsung’s choice of Exertis as its exclusive partner reinforces the value that Samsung sees in us as a distributor.”

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active LTE is available from Exertis now, with the Wi-Fi version to follow shortly.

In other news, the distributor has announced the appointment of Kati Cheetham as head of purchasing.

Cheetham previously worked within the company from 2005 to 2009 and has had eight years experience working for a trading division of DSGi.

Cheetham said: “I’m really excited to be back at Exertis and see so many friendly faces.

“Perhaps more importantly, this is a great time to re-join Exertis as it goes from strength to strength.”
