This year's Channel Expo event is gearing up to be bigger and better than last year's with a raft of major announcements including new exhibitors, seminars and the appearance of Nick Leeson as guest speaker.Wickhill, Computerlinks, CompTIA, United Planet and Lenovo have all announced that they will be attending the exhibition, taking place on May 21st and 22nd at the Birmingham NEC.
Among the many debates that will be happening at this year's event include six CRN How To Sell seminars, based around AV, printers, security, storage and virtualisation, fixed and mobile convergence/telephony and WEEE compliance.
Panelists will be announced for each seminar within the coming weeks.
Nick Leeson, the legendary 'rogue trader' who brought down Barings bank in 1995 brought it down following his failed gamble on futures contacts, will be speaking at the conference.
He will be discussing stress management, financial safeguards in business, credit and finance, risk management and coming back from the brink.
"I am delighted and overwhelmed by the registration numbers so far for Channel Expo 08. We have over 1500 resellers registered already for May's event and that figure is increasing every day," said Mark Burton, publisher at Incisive Media.
"This response really demonstrates the need for an event of this kind," he added.
