New multiplayer and multi-city fixes coming to PC version in the next few weeks

Release date for SimCity Mac edition put back to August

Originally set to land on Mac in June, EA has pushed the release date of SimCity back due to it not being ‘ready for primetime’.

Back in April PCR reported that EA’s SimCity would be making its way onto Mac on June 11th, where players would be able to receive both Mac and PC versions with one purchase.

Gamers were told that those who had already purchased SimCity for PC could receive a free Mac download on Origin.

Those players will now have to wait another month to get their hands on the Mac version. Why? Well, it seems there’s still some issues with the quality of the game.

“We are announcing that we are moving the release date of the Mac version of SimCity to August. We have made this tough decision because we do not believe it is ready for primetime yet. We want to ensure the Mac is a great experience for our players and that is why we are taking more time,” reads the SimCity blog.

The blog also reveals that EA is still working hard of fixing a number of issues in the PC version of the game.

“We are currently working on a series of multiplayer and multi-city fixes and improvements that will be available in Update 5.”

Update 5 is expected to land in a couple of weeks.
