Accessories and peripherals manufacturer Razer today took out a full page advert in the Wall Street Journal (global edition) to champion the cause of PC gaming in an open letter addressed to the Xbox, Wii and PlayStation.
The letter, which says we've all heard about the 'demise of PC gaming', is part of the mysterious lead up to something Razer is revealing on August 26th. What that is precisely we've no idea yet, but the advert is compelling, nonetheless.
It states: "The rumors of our untimely demise have been greatly exaggerated. We are more than 300 million PC gamers worldwide and this legion is growing every day.
"We have been silent in the face of the closed gaming systems that have been propogated.
"We look forward to an open world where console and PC gamers will stand side by side."
It concludes by saying that Razer will "end the silence" on August 26th, when it will "bring a new age of openness and innovation to all gaming".
