Quanta has signalled its intentions to grow notebook shipments during 2008 by 25 per cent.Sources speaking to Digitimes, cited Apple and HP's expansion strategies as one of the main growth areas, with the two vendors each expected to account for over 20 per cent of the OEM's sales this year.
It expects Apple's orders to reach around six to eight million units thanks to the introduction of its new MacBook Air laptop.
HP is also expected to contribute heavily, with the vendor's vice president indicating that the company is expecting to order around 10 million notebooks from the OEM this year.
Dell's contribution to the OEM's shipment figures will be lower than previous years after the vendor shifted the majority of its production to rival ODM, Compal Electronics. It is expected to contribute just over ten per cent of the OEM's shipments for this year.
