Project Canvas, the collaborative partnership for creating an open IPTV platform, is looking for consumer device manufacturers to help push the hardware side of the venture.
Although the group initially wants to focus on twin tuner digital terrestrial television IP-connected digital video recorders, it says it will also welcome manufacturers who propose other categories, such as internet-enabled TV and set-top boxes.
There are a number of criteria to fill, including experience in providing digital and internet TV devices to the mass market and the resources to meet a 2011 deployment. The full list of criteria can be viewed here.
