We round up the latest products announced by computing vendors – and rumoured – over the past week.
Rumours have begun to surface around a new iMac device from tech giant Apple. The device will allegedly come with a 21.5-inch display, a resolution of 4,096×2,304 and will support 4K.
According to reports the device could show up in stores as soon as October 13th, and may support Broadwell chips with Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 and AMD Radeon chips.
A new antivirus solution for Macs is now available from Bitdefender, which the company says has been proven 100 per cent effective in independent tests.
Bitdefender Antivirus for Macs eliminates adware, unwanted toolbars and hijacker programs, plus Bitdefender Autopilot has also been added to the software for maximum protection.
Adobe has announced the availability of Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 and Premiere Elements 14, both of which are priced at $99.99.
Using Premiere, users can edit videos in 4K resolution and export files into multiple formats, while Elements will allow users to make quicker edits and remove camera shake.
Logitech has unveiled the G410 Atlas Spectrum TKL gaming keyboard, which the firm says can register key presses up to 25 per cent faster than other devices on the market, plus it is designed to withstand 70 million keystrikes. The keyboard will hit Europe and the US this month.
Plus, Overclockers has introduced two new gaming PCs to its portfolio, with the Marvel 4K designed to deliver 4K gaming, which is priced at £799.99.
The Marvel 1080p will also be available from the system builder, designed as a console alterative, plus the device will retail for £329.95.
Corsair has released its new RMx Series of 80 Plus Gold certified PC power supplies, which boast 80 Plus Gold efficiency, silent Zero-RPM fan mode, fully modular cables and premium components. The RMx series of PSUs is available immediately in 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W and 1000W capacities.
Norton has announced a string of new enhancements to its flagship security software Norton Security. Norton features new proactive protection against zero-day vulnerabilities and optimised engines to help thwart sophisticated attacks such as ransomware and fraudulent websites.
The software will also come with three new tiers, so consumers can match the service to their personal needs.
Streaming service vendor Roku has just updated its line of streaming boxes, with the addition of the Roku 4. It comes with support for 4K content, runs on Roku OS 7, features a quad-core processor, 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi and a 1080p home screen and user interface.
Editors Keys have launched a new backlit keyboard designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, which will retail for £99.99. It comes with over 100 shortcuts and features full backlighting.
In addition, Epson has unveiled two new WorkForce Pro business inkjet printers designed specifically to reduce environmental impact. The WF-6590DWF and WF-6090DW boast up to 80 per cent lower energy consumption than competitive colour laser printers, and are available from November 2015.
Display vendor AOC has extended its range of Style Line displays with two new models, including the 23.8-inch AOC I2481FXH and 27-inch AOC I2781FH. Prices for the displays are £139 and £199 respectively.
BeQuiet! has boosted its case series with the Silent Base 600, which features a three-step fan controller and a three-in-one air vent, which can be used to adjust the air circulation.
It is also available in various colours, including orange, black and silver, for a retail price of £79.
Box Technologies is launching a range of Cielo mobile tablets and a Cielo mOve docking system. The docking solution features a secure lock and charge function, while the tablets suuport long-range Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionalities.
In other news, Altia Systems revealed it will demonstrate its PanaCast 2 real time video camera in Booth 46 of the Emerging Technology Pavilion at The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2015.
The device is the world’s first panoramic-4K plug-and-play USB video camera, which boasts a 180 degree wide and 54 degree tall field of view, plus a 3,840×1,080 resolution.
CMS Distribution has also bolstered its product portfolio with new security vendors, including AlienVault, Barracuda, The Bunker and iSheriff.
