The highly speculated pricing for the Blackberry PlayBook has now appeared online, according to Mobile Phone News.
RIM’s first tablet and iPad competitor is expected to be priced at $499 and will be available in April in both the US and the UK. In terms of UK pricing, £499 is likely due to extra costs involved UK distribution and VAT which is not included in the US price.
The PlayBook’s details have been known for a number of months, with a full unveiling occurring at CES 2011, but the business orientated tablet had yet to have a price point.
Despite being branded as the ‘PlayBook’, Blackberry is adamant that the device is “built for business” and “professional grade”.
