Storage specialist Plextor announced the firm’s entry into the solid state drive market with the M2S series of SSDs.
The 2.5-inch M2S series is available in 64, 128 and 256GB sizes and supports the new SATA 6GB/s interface. The firm also claimed that the M2S series offers up to 10 years of operation without degrading over time.
The drives are rated at 480MB/s read and 330MB/s write which Plextor claims is the fastest SSD available on the market. The drives also support Windows 7 TRIM command and come bundled with Acronis True Image.
The Plextor M2S range will be launching in Europe in March. The company said announcements on pricing would also be made in March.
