Nvidia Shield hits US PC stores this month
The Nvidia Shield portable gaming device – which can play Android titles or stream games from a PC – will launch in the US on July 31st.
Last month graphics card maker Nvidia delayed the launch due to a "mechanical issue". Now it’s ready to hit retail shelves in the States, though a UK or European release has not yet been confirmed.
Apple testing 13-inch ‘iPad Maxi’
Apple and its suppliers are allegedly testing larger screens for the iPhone and iPad.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the firm is looking to release an iPad with a 12.9-inch screen as well as an iPhone with a display larger than the iPhone 5’s.
Google Chromecast TV streaming dongle unveiled
Google has introduced the Chromecast TV streaming dongle, set to rival Apple TV and Roku.
The Chromecast plugs into the HDMI port of a television, enabling the user to stream media from a number of devices including smartphones, tablets and computers.
VIDEO: Ubuntu Edge "superphone" is also a PC, seeks funding
Operating system specialist Canonical has revealed the Ubuntu Edge – a "superphone" that doubles up as a desktop PC.
The company is seeking $32 million on crowdfunding website Indiegogo to produce the new type of smartphone, which Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth describes as "a proving ground for the most advanced mobile technologies on the horizon, a showpiece for true mobile innovation".
Retailers oppose online sales tax
A number of online retailers have signed a letter addressed to chancellor George Osborne calling for an end to the argument for an online sales tax.
