We shine the spotlight on four of our finalists in the new PCR Rising Stars Awards

PCR RISING STARS: John Medley, Wesley Joyce, Andrew Robinson & Steven Levitt

As we build towards the PCR Rising Stars awards event this summer, we will profile those in the running for these new accolades.

This week, we take a look at PC Specialist’s John Medley, Tech Data’s Wesley Joyce, Utopia Computer’s Andrew Robinson and Caseking’s Steven Levitt.

John Medley, Sales & Marketing Manager, PC Specialist

Medley has been at PC Specialist for nine years and has been instrumental in establishing the brand at retail, with the range now being listed in Maplin, PC World, eBuyer, Dabs and BuyItDirect.

He considers his key skills to be product knowledge and management, communication, B2B and B2C sales, plus marketing. Outside of the office he enjoys socializing with friends and family, along with football and fishing (not at the same time, we hope).

Wesley Joyce, Consumer PC Business Development Executive, Tech Data

Joyce joined Tech Data in 2011, having spent three years at Phones 4 U, and has demonstrated considerable drive in building and maintaining relationships with customers.

He considers himself a strong team player, offering support to his colleagues, along with a sense of fun to help motivate others. Joyce’s mid-term ambitions lie in becoming a business manager, with hopes of progressing into more senior roles and establishing himself in the industry.

Meanwhile, his hobbies are an eclectic mix – ranging from cooking and entertaining, an ”obsession” with music, to boxing.

Andrew Robinson, Creative Engineer, Utopia Computers

Robinson joined everyone’s favourite indie two years ago, straight from studying an HND in 3D Design and Product Design. And his creative background has seen him work with the team at Utopia on projects ranging from maximizing the company’s storage and workshop space, redesigning the web team’s work area (including using games magazine pages as wallpaper), to creating Utopia’s new mobile responsive website. And it’s this that Robinson claims to be most proud of, having taught himself HTML5, bootstrap and CSS3 over many late nights and crates of Red Bull.

In his spare time, Robinson plays in a band called Losing Ground, who play in venues all over Scotland. He also enjoys learning new programming languages – but has no idea why he’s often called a geek…

Steven Levitt, Marketing Specialist, Caseking

Levitt joined Caseking from Overclockers UK eight years ago. He was hired as a sales advisor and quickly established a reputation for excellent advice and support on UK forums under his alias of ‘5UB’.

He’s now Marketing Specialist for the company, working with the media to promote Caseking and its products, whilst also providing sector analysis to ensure the firm remains on top of market trends.

Levitt says that the highlight of his career so far has been taking an unrecognized brand in the UK to the point where it is now the best-selling brand in its sector. He’s a big gamer in his spare time, playing the likes of Counter Strike and GTAV. And he can also turn his hand to magic too.
