PCR Boot Camp partner spotlight: Wasp Barcode Technologies

Here PCR talks to Gold Partner Wasp’s European sales director Hugh Furness about the company’s plans for the conference & expo…

How important is it for UK retailers and resellers to connect well with customers?
Very important, and Boot Camp is a great way we can all get together in one place, from resellers and partners, to distributors and industry leaders.

What do you see being the key issues facing PC retailers in 2013?
Keeping margin in a slow market and looking at new products that can offer good returns.

What products/services will you be promoting at the event this year?
We will be showcasing the new HC1 mobile computer with our asset and inventory control solutions, as well as a new Labeler 2D. Our normal range will also be on show.

Why should retailers look out for your stand at PCR Boot Camp?
We have some great productivity ranges that can help them and their customers become more efficient and more profitable. Our products have a great margin and we’re launching our new Wasplink program.

What are the key brands you carry?
Wasp offers a full range of solutions including asset tracking, inventory control, time and attendance, epos, and barcode printers and scanners.

What are your predictions for the business in 2013?
Wasp has grown in the past year and we see a steady growth ahead in 2013. Even with this slow economy, we’re seeing our product ranges grow.

What distinguishes you from your competitors?
We offer boxed solutions, everything a customer will need in one box, ready to plug and play. No one else offers that.

What was the best moment from last year’s Boot Camp event?
We found last year that the show brought all the key people together, we met some new resellers and caught up with a few old ones too. It was a great location and was good to chat over a drink later in the day.

This year’s Boot Camp, in association with Microsoft, takes place on Wednesday May 29th at The Brewery, London. Tech dealers can register for free at www.pcrbootcamp.com

Then after a free lunch, an Expo and Break-out Sessions in the afternoon will provide an opportunity for tech dealers to talk directly to vendors and distributors. The day finishes off with an After-Show Drinks Reception, where dealers will get their VIP Gift Bags.
