Lenovo and Entatech VP Jon Atherton have been awarded two of the biggest accolades at last night’s PCR Awards 2014.
The Grand Prix Award is the biggest prize of the night and honours a company or brand which has had an outstanding past 12 months.
Lenovo continued to achieve record-breaking profits and sales, hitting its best-ever results in Q3 2013 – resulting in analyst IDC naming it as the world’s largest PC vendor.
In addition to its financial success, the PC and smartphone manufacturer is a strong supporter of the trade, vocal in accrediting the partnerships that makes this success possible and has begun to accrue a number of new channel initiatives.
Perhaps the firm’s biggest success, though, is scoring movie star Ashton Kutcher as a product engineer.
Speaking of stars, Entatech director Jon Atherton was named as the second-ever recipient of the Special Recognition Award, voted for by the PCR Retail Advisory Board, following the award’s introduction at last year’s event.
Atherton is well known throughout the channel, and already has a number of industry awards under his belt for his own achievements and those of Entatech.
Atherton continued to show his excellent leadership of the distributor throughout 2013, leading the firm to 18 per cent year-on-year growth, bolstered by a brand new southern sales office and an expansion of its warehouse facilities.
