PCR appoints Jonathan Easton as deputy editor

PCR has hired a new deputy editor.

Experienced journalist Jonathan Easton has joined the editorial team this week. He moves across from Pro Global Media, where he worked as deputy editor on trade titles such as Global Cement and Global Gypsum.

He replaces long-serving PCR online editor Laura Barnes, who has been with PCR for almost five years and has now moved across to NewBay Media sister publication MI Pro, focusing on the music instrument business.

Jonathan has worked as live music editor for online music site Middle Boop Mag, and runs music website Speed of Sound in his spare time.

He also has a history in broadcasting, having worked with BBC Radio 4 to help produce shows like Woman’s Hour, where he dealt with high-profile guests including Jeremy Corbyn.

"I’m really happy to be joining the PCR team," Jonathan said. "I look forward to progressing myself professionally and helping to bring PCR forward."

Jonathan will be working alongside current PCR editor Dominic Sacco to help shape the website and magazine’s content going forwards, as well as working on events such as PCR Boot Camp, PCR Awards and PCR Women of the Year.

Dominic said: "I’m delighted Jonathan has joined us and look forward to working with him. I’ve already thrown him into the deep end and am sending him out to events, so please do welcome him and say hi if you see him.

"I also want to say a big thank you to Laura who has been instrumental in PCR’s editorial coverage over the years, and I wish her all the best in her new role."
