Terminal five to see four new DSGi stores

PC World to open in Heathrow

A PC World will open as well as three Dixons stores in Heathrow’s terminal five. DSGi already runs 25 Dixons Tax Free outlets in airports in the UK and now the company plans to open a PC World store for the first time in an airport.

Dixons was taken off the high street last year to become an online exclusive retailer, however this move adds further to Dixon’s renewed bricks-and-mortar offering.

Products stocked by both outlets will be aimed specifically at the traveller, however the customer may choose whether to have products delivered at standard RRP or claim them Tax free in store.

Andrew Milliken, MD of DSGi Airport Retail says: “T5 will house the largest concentration of passengers in Europe – all under one roof. This provides us with a unique opportunity to make a significant step forward in our customer proposition and to segment our store offering to better serve the specific passenger needs in this single airline terminal.”

Duncan Tolson, Product Director – Media & Telecoms for BAA Retail, added: “We are delighted that Dixons Tax Free and PC World have been signed to Terminal 5. By developing unique store concepts and creating an experiential shopping environment, all four stores will be setting an exceptional benchmark for airport retailing in the 21st century.”
