Monitor panel prices have fallen by three to five per cent according to figures released by research firms. The two firms, DisplaySearch and Witsview, also agree that there has been a decline in notebook prices, although DisplaySearch depict a three to four per cent decline in prices, and WitsView places the drop between one and two per cent. Sources at Digitimes pointed out that seasonality is responsible for the falling monitor panel prices, which were at high levels in the third quarter. The same sources blame the falling notebook prices on panel vendors adjusting their inventory levels.
DisplaySearch and Witsview also claim that TV panel prices have remained unchanged from December.
