Orange has boosted its consumer laptop range with the addition of two new models from HP and Toshiba, with the firm promising further devices are on the way.The new models are part of the network operator's connected range and signal the firm's move away from just supplying netbook-based mobile broadband solutions towards a mix of laptop and netbook ranges.
Both the HP Mini 700 and the Toshiba L300, join the Asus Eee 900, and come with Orange's Internet Everywhere mobile broadband service, as well as a 3GB monthly data allowance.
The devices are available on 24-month contracts, with the HP Mini 700 priced at £30 per month and the Toshiba L300 at £35 per month. Both are covered by a 24-month manufacturer warranty.
"We always aim to offer customers a flexible solution that works around them and the lifestyle they choose, and believe the new devices we’ve launched today do just that," commented Orange's director of broadband and home, Asif Aziz.
Aziz added that the two new models were just the start of a range expansion during this year. "We will continue to build on these offerings throughout 2009 so as to ensure our customers benefit from one of the most competitive portfolios for mobile broadband in the UK."
The firm also launched a new dongle, as it looks to capitalise upon the increasing numbers of laptop owners looking for mobile broadband. The Huawei E160e dongle, which comes in black, while and pink, doubles up as a memory stick, with capacity for an 8GB micro-SD card to be inserted into the device.
