Research from IMRG has forecasted that online sales will reach £7.75 billion over the Christmas period.
According to ERT, the findings showed that last years two peak weeks for online sales were the two weeks starting on November 29th. The analyst also feels that mobile will play a key role in online sales this year.
“Research we carried out earlier this year with eDigitalResearch found that 30 per cent of tablet owners and 25 per cent of smart phone owners have used their device to shop online,” commented IMRG’s chief marketing and communications officer David J Smith.
“Consumers are clearly not fazed by interacting with retailers through these devices and the important role they play is only going to increase.”
