OnBuy secures major investment from Centerprise

Online marketplace OnBuy launches to rival Amazon and eBay

A brand new online marketplace is launching in the hopes of offering a better service than two of the world’s most dominant companies.

OnBuy intends to take the most successful aspects from Amazon and eBay and combine them with a unique navigation framework.

The marketplace is not limited to barcoded only items, and will focus heavily on individual sellers.

Shoppers will be able to search for a product, and then add a bespoke range of filters; while an exclusive discounting structure will enable shoppers to find the best deals around.

Focussing on a range of different products, from hand-crafted items to the latest technology releases, OnBuy will offer sellers a unique management service – all they have to do is send over product images and numbers and OnBuy will do all the rest, including uploading and managing their inventories, as well as significantly cheaper fees.

“Basically, we want to offer a better service than the leading marketplaces, for both buyers and sellers,” said Cas Paton, MD of OnBuy.

OnBuy has secured major investment from one of the UK’s leading IT providers, Centerprise International.

“The value and experience, product reach and support services that Centerprise International offer are going to be fundamental to the success of OnBuy,” said Paton.

“They’ve been trading for 30 years, working closely with some of the largest IT companies in the world!”

Garry Stevens, Group CEO of Centerprise International said of the project: “We see OnBuy becoming part of the way that people buy online, setting new standards in reach and choice.

“The first thing that attracted us to work with Cas and the team on the project was the focus and enthusiasm they have for it. For us, we are always looking for great people to back and we are happy that we can form a long and mutually productive future alliance together.”
