Apple customers could potentially make big savings this Friday, when the company’s one-day sale returns to the UK for a second year.
Teaser adverts have appeared on Apple’s website and subscriber emails, announcing: “Happy Friday. Especially this Friday.”
“Come back to the Apple Online Store this Friday for a special one-day-only shopping event. You’ll find lots of great iPod, iPhone and Mac gift ideas — all with free shipping,” the website reads.
High street shoppers, meanwhile, can “enjoy extended hours in our retail stores” on 27 November. No other details of the event have been officially released.
During the 2008 sale, customers enjoyed £60.99 off the new MacBook, with smaller discounts on other computers, as well as iPods and accessories. However, supposedly official information leaked to tech website BGR suggests that discounts of up to 30 per cent may be available this year.
The Apple sale has been a regular date in the US for several years and is timed to take place the day after Thanksgiving – known as Black Friday – which is traditionally seen as the start of the Christmas shopping season and a day when many retailers offer discounts.
