Cas Paton confirms he is no longer a part of the online marketplace

OnBuy MD departs business

Cas Paton has left his role as MD of British online marketplace OnBuy.

Paton set up OnBuy early last year with Simon Lennon in a bid to rival bigger sites like Amazon and eBay, and secured major investment from IT provider Centerprise International.

The site made its first sale in December 2013 and Paton went on to head up Centerprise’s tech recycling site CI Recycle.

However, Paton’s Linkedin profile shows that he stopped working for his company OnTop Media in March.

He confirmed to PCR that he is ‘no longer a part of OnBuy’, but said he couldn’t add anything else.

Centerprise declined to comment.

Paton has now instead set up Visor Media, which offers an e-commerce website design service, and he will also launch his own tech etailer in the summer.

It’s not clear whether a new OnBuy MD is being recruited or what the plans are for the online marketplace going forwards.
