Obama's 'Four more years' most retweeted post of all time

Barack Obama’s celebratory tweet after winning the US election has over 510,000 retweets so far.

The tweet, accompanied by a photo of Obama and First Lady Michelle hugging, simply said ‘Four more years’.

Twitter reported that there were 31 million tweets about the US election, peaking at 327,452 tweets per minutes when the results were called. These figures mean that this year’s US election is the most tweeted about day in history so far.

A second tweet by Obama, which thanked his supporters, has also become one of the most popular by being retweeted more than 144,000 times. So it seems today is the day that the US president becomes more popular than Justin Bieber…
