Graphics giant Nvidia has launched a new GPU family called the GTX 200 series. The GTX 260 and the GTX 280, the latter of which is now the firm’s leading GPU, are the first two products in the series and emerged today.
The products apparently provide almost a teraflop of computational power, and have various improvements in texturing and power management.
Much of the support Nvidia will be giving these GPUs will be related to its wider push to change peoples perceptions of what a GPU can provide, ie more than simply gaming.
