A leading Taiwan-based hardware manufacturer is currently developing an e-book reader that integrates Nvidia’s system-on-a-chip Tegra tech, according to reports.
Micro-Star International (MSI) chairman Joseph Hsu revealed that the firm is working on the device, but will hold off until the first half of 2010 before announcing details.
The announcement comes shortly after rival Asustek revealed it plans to develop its own e-book.
Tegra is an ARM-based processor with integrated Geforce graphics, and has been developed by Nvidia for use in smartphones and other mobile devices such as Microsoft’s Zune HD.
Nvidia was the subject of rife speculation in October after it was claimed the group had won a highly lucrative contract that will see it provide Tegra-based technology for the next Nintendo handheld.
