Leading US business magazine Forbes has selected NVIDIA as their Company of the Year from a list of over 1,000 companies they analysed. In selecting the company, Forbes editors reviewed the Platinum 400 list of best-managed companies in the US, and considered financial performance, management ability, leadership and innovation.
Bea Longworth, NVIDIA corporate communications manager EMEA, told PC Retail: "We're absolutely delighted with this award. It’s a wonderful endorsement, not only for NVIDIA itself, but for all the retailers, resellers and partners who work with us in the UK and abroad to achieve these great results.
"NVIDIA is continuing to develop as a worldwide leader in visual computing and 2008 promises to be an exceptional year for our business."
The selection of NVIDIA was also the Forbes cover story and NVIDIA was described as leading "the breakneck, highly-lucrative graphics-chip business, giving high-definition to web videos and bringing a visual kick to digital video games".
Forbes also highlighted the growing amount of online 3D applications, such as Google Earth, as a reason why the demand for graphics processors will grow.
