Nvidia launches 3D Vision 2 upgrade

Graphics specialist Nvidia has unveiled an updated 3D Vision 2 kit which boosts 3D game and movie viewing brightness by two fold, the company said.

The LCD shutter glasses in the 3D Vision kit have received a makeover, based on the same hardware but now with 20 per cent larger lenses and an ‘eternal light blocker’ which is aimed at reducing the effects of overhead lighting.

The glasses are also 20 per cent lighter and sport a more comfortable fit. Nvidia also said displays with ‘3D LightBoost’ technology are coming such as the Asus VG278H, a 27-inch LED monitor which is set to arrive for around $700 in the US.

The 3D Vision 2 Wireless glasses kit includes a pair of 3D Vision 2 glasses, 6 foot USB cable, 10 foot USB cable, 3D Vision USB controller/IR emitter and a couple of spare nose pieces for the glasses.

The will go on sale at the end of October and is priced in the US at $149.
